A birthday gift from my mum x

When it comes to birthdays or Christmas, I'm lucky in that I have some wonderful friends and family who are happy to add to my china collection. Just recently I had my birthday and my mum gave me my first pieces from the Royal Albert Miranda Kerr collection.

Small cake stand & two sets of Tidbit plates.

For several years now, I've been collecting mainly Royal Albert Old Country Roses (OCR) an all time classic and icon which has been in production since 1962 and is known as 'the world's best selling china pattern'. My collection is nearing a set worthy of a stately home, and over the coming months I will be featuring a lot of it in this blog.

So as my collecting of OCR is nearing the end, I've been looking into other patterns. There's so many beautiful ones to choose from, but the new Miranda Kerr collection really caught my eye. With its modern vibrant colors and graphics, it stands in contrast to my OCR. I filled my wish list with a place setting from the five patterns in the collection:

The main pattern, Friendship is a white background adorned with striking pink peonies, butterflies scattered about, and trimmed in gold. It's modern, elegant and feminine, what more could you ask for in a tea set.

The four accent patterns all have a variation on this theme including the pink peonies, butterflies, and gold trim;

Joy uses the layout of Friendship with a pale yellow background.
Gratitude is a white background, covered in peonies.
Blessings is a pastel green background with a heart shaped cluster of peonies at its center.
And finally Devotion which has an outer band of baby blue around a ring of peonies.

The accessories like the 3-Tier Cake Stand, and Large Cake Stand come in a mix of the patterns.

So back to my lovely birthday present from my mum, she got me the Small Cake Stand
which comes in the blessings pattern.

Along with the cake stand she gave me two sets of Tidbit Plates which have four mini plates in a set, each plate is one of the four accent patterns.

The four patterns which make up the tidbit plates.

For scale, as you can see they are rather dainty.

Which are perfect for small bites.

As you can see they perfectly complement each other.

The perfect size for each other.

Great for small bites

I love the mix of patterns

The size of the cake stand is perfect for small tea time treats such as biscuits (cookies), chocolates, or macarons. Which are the ideal size for the tidbit plates. A small cake 5" or less would be absolutely stunning on this, I will have to make one in the future to feature on it. Royal Albert also make a Small Glass Dome which fits on this cake stand, needless to say that's on my wish list! So here's to the start of my new beautiful collection.

Stephanie.
